I just picked up a Triode Lab 12 awg power cord to try out in y system.  While I haven't heard any night and day differences/improvements to my system one thing did catch my attention.  With the stock powercord I could still hear a slight hum when no music as playing, the hum pots took this to a low level but it was still there.  After I plugged in the Triode Labs cord I noted that the hum was completely gone in one channel and barely audible in the other, with a slight turn of the hum pot the hum was conpletely gone in both channels.  Now the only sound I can hear with no music playing is a very slight hiss, to hear this my ear has to be inside the 97dB efficient coax speaker.

This may be common knowledge but it was a surprise side effect of the new cord  for me.

Best,
Ed

Ed,

I love my TWL power cables!  Yes, not sure what's going on, but all my SE amps seem quieter to me as well.

Give them some time too -- they will probably go through some weirdness in the 10-25 hour range and then will settle into a very balanced, smooth sound.

I tried them on my paramours, paramounts, Fis and Carina and all amps really benefitted nicely from them.

And Pete is another of the real great guys in this whole audio thing.

Hopenefully my next one from him will be an 8 gauge cable 20 amp cable for my Rev B buss.

Hi Jim,
I actually picked this cable up used from Big Red Machine (Pete) on AC.  It should already be broken in.  I have had it running for about 15 hrs now but it has sounded good right from the start.  So far no night and day difference in sound beyond th obvious elimination of any hum from my Stereomour.

Ed
