So this is my 1st post as I am looking at purchasing a Quickie before jumping to the Foreplay III later. My question is whether I will have trouble matching up the Quickie with my gear.

Adcom GFA-555 Input Impedance - 22,000 ohms/ 300pf
Polk SDA2B Sensitivity - 92db

I know this is the Quickie forum but sound off on the Foreplay III also in reference to the above question.

Thanks.

The Quickie will do fine.  As a matter of fact there are several guys who are using their Quickies with solid state amplifiers much like the GFA-555.

As for your speakers, they only need to be matched to the power of the amplifier, and that is done already.

What sources are you going to use?

I will be using a Marantz CD5004 player. That is it! Very simple on that end.

Yeah, you will be able to drive yourself out of the house with your new setup.

Well I will let my wife know that you approve of that! ;-)

What I am trying to avoid is any mis-matches between my gear and the quickie. I would hate to replace my SS preamp only to acquire hum/noise because of impedance problems.

Typically there is a statement about minimum impedance, but not for the Quickie.  It is almost always 15k ohms or more.  So can you find the input impedance of the 555?
