I'll never again attempt to recap a CD player, but in fact I've recently ruined not one but two.  I've salvaged 30 caps, 16 Elna Silmic II and 14 the best Nichicon I could get in the right uF and V values.  I strongly advise anyone not to try what I did, but if anyone wants to try anyway, on a Denon 1500 II, 1560 or 1600 (and maybe others), for the price of a USPS smallest flat rate box, $5.25 or very close, these caps are yours.
The only consolation is that the kss-151A lasers are worth more than the players they came out of.  A used one sold on eBay for $184, two others are listed there at roughly that price.  My two have both been tested and found good by Paul Porcelli, whose Turbo DAC I've raved about in this Forum.  To a fellow Bottlehead, I'd sell them for $171 apiece, which includes shipping.  They're part of a drawer/laser assembly: I'd ship it all together, being afraid of damage if I tried to get them apart.  It takes only a screwdriver to replace the whole assembly and get the kss-151A's into one of those Denons I listed.  Unlikely that this will interest anyone since Bottleheads tend to prefer LP's, sensibly enough.  But why not mention it on the off chance?

I forgot something.  If those caps (probably unsuitable for must tube circuit positions owing to low V rating) interest you, please email me at [email protected] for details on them: uF and V for all.  They have very short leads now, but are perfectly suitable for circuit board installation.
