GoldPoint update for SEX II.1 amp. I have just finished the installation of the GoldPoint attenuator for Tuffy Puppy. I did change out a good deal of internal wiring as well, using such products as Mapleshade speaker wire for the inputs, and AudioQuest Midnight speaker wire for the output transformers. The RCA jacks and binding posts were also changed out to Connex RCA and Vampire binding posts. I'll get right to the punch, the amp seems to have a more open sound than before. I think that it always had this potential, but now it can be heard. What I like about this amp is that it has no edginess or harshness with recordings that might have possessed this character with other equipment. Another attribute here is the musicality of the bass. There is no muddiness that I can hear, and I can only hope to modify my own amp to these expectations. As seasoned members here know my expectations of any equipment are just that , and maybe other people would have different expectations. I am very specific in what does it for me, and this amp has no apologies to bear.
