Been searching for a deal on a pair of these phones. An Ebay seller (Razordog) offers them (new) for $360. Best price I can find anywhere else (new) is $500. If I go to  razordogdeals.com the same Ebay seller sells them for $500. What gives?

bhphotoviseo.com has them for about $457. Unfortunately, soundearphones.com had a 20% coupon that ended yesterday.

If I were you, I would ask at head-fi.org

Picked up a new pair off Ebay for $360. An authorized dealer.... we'll see how that goes. Should have them in a few days.

Guys,

I've listened to the HD-600s and HD-650s extensively.  IMHO, the HD-600s sound better to me.

The HD-650s sounded, well, a bit "dark".  The HD-600s sound more open and clear, to me.

Just MHO.

There seems to be two camps when it comes to the 600s and 650s, I own both and I prefer the 650s. I think you can't go wrong with either of these phones. Though Don is correct the 650s can be a little dark. They benefit from a recabling, and replacing the acoustic silk that covers the drivers with Nylon stocking material. That tweak helped brighten them up quite a bit. John, they do take awhile to break in though, but I found the 600s did as well. I think you will like them.

Cheers,
Shawn
