No,.. not that kind of happy ending! You guys are just unbelievable sometimes!

This is a tale that's unwound in the last couple of weeks which I've been privy to and sworn to secrecy until it's closure.
Hopefully, it will never happen to Doc and Eileen but Tyll's wrap up bears some consideration.

I read about it on Head-Fi and am thankful this is finally closed.  It won't keep it from happening again unfortunately but I'm happy for Todd and Justin.

That is indeed awesome. We have been ripped off a few times over the years, which has made Eileen very wary. If anything fails to match up on the credit card info, forget the transaction. She has developed a very good relationship with our bank/merchant service and works very closely with them on any orders for large amounts. Our continual backlog tends to discourage the crooks, who are looking for a quick receipt time for the stolen goods.  Plus thieves are typically too fucking dumb to be able to assemble one of our kits.

The other thing a business owner has to be very careful about is the fraudulent use of their own debit cards. We have had ours compromised a few times in the past few years. Someone in Europe was trying to use our card last year, but didn't get anywhere with it because the bank saw the transaction and flagged it. Any purchase over a certain amount or outside of our local area gets flagged and the bank checks with us before proceeding.

Great story! I am happy when the good guys win.

I am always amazed how frequently this happens.

Sometimes the vendor is culprit.

My banks credit fraud dept helped me after I bought a power supply and parts from an online supplier and was billed for  the correct $251.87

and then billed again for an even $200. I finally received most of my order, and after about 8 weeks of shunned emails, the bank got my $200 back.

Needless to say, I will not do business with them again.

This is a great story indeed. I'm glad they caught the thief in the end.
