Of course many of you know the originof that statement, so no need to explain further.
Anyway today we went over to our storage locker as I was sure I had some wood over there and as my shop is cooming together, some nice wood be really useful... Well, what a bonanza: several strips about 3" - 4" wide and 3/4 thick pieces of walnut, Macassar ebony, Koa, and then the real re-discovery -- two sets of bookshelves that were essentially just planks and brackets to hold them to the wall -- not a hole or piece of hardware in them at all. 4 6 foot loong, 3/4" thick by 8" wide solid teak planks that used to be the bookshelves in my bedroom as a kid, straight as an arrow, perfectly smooth and flat and at least 50 years old -- the last 18 in the Colorado climate. The other set is of a couple lengths and widths, has some minimal hardware in it and is black walnut., plus all the wall cleats, etc. for both. Lots to work with, plenty wide enough for getting two BH base-width boards out of with no problem, and should sand and oil up to be some terrific looking boxes for my BH gear.
Let there be wood!
