I'm considering a slightly different physical layout for my scratch build paramour IIs and basically wonder if ithere would be any harm in reversing the positions of the gain and power tubes such that the output tube would sit next to the plate choke and opt (over-and-under arrangement as in s.e.x. and stereomour.
Also in the original is there any special reason the tubes are located just to the outside of a line that extends from the edge of the power transformer, and would it be safe to move them further out from this line and further from the pt? I'm going to use again a slightly larger plate to accomodate the large pf caps and the dowdy chokes, as well as probably an asc oil can second ps cap.
Thanks,
Jim
