I have to pitch in with Paul. The indecision about 45 power comes from guys who don't have the right speakers. You do!
I, most recently, have had 94dBW speakers which would rock the room with 45 output tubes. Part of this was a self-powered sub. But even without the sub the speakers could make my ears bleed. My room is 23' by 13' by 8'. It is not small but not really, really large.
I have posted often that as the power goes down the magic goes up. Since everyone hears things differently, that might not be the situation for you. But that is my experience.
Some of the best amps I have heard in the last 40 years were 45 output tubes.
