There should've been a CD with the transformers that has the iron upgrade instructions with it, but if you bought these without plate chokes, I could understand why this might've been left out of the box.

If you PM me your e-mail address, I can send you a download link.

You should have received a set of instructions. If you didn't (mine didn't) PB can hook you up with a download link.

EDIT: You beat me to it Paul. :)

Installed the new outputs last night.  Only had a couple of hours to listen so they are still breaking in.  Sounding very good, though. Still using a 4uF parafeed cap so need to play with that value next.

Think I'll also sandwich the hum pots between 22 ohm resistors, Stereomour style, for finer resolution.  Anyone know if additional circuit mods are required for this change?

Thanks Bottlehead Team!

You will need a 10 ohm pot to stay near 50 ohms total.

That makes sense - thanks.  None of those it my parts bin so this will have to wait until the next Mouser order.

The new transformers are settling in nicely.  Bass is noticeably improved even with the existing 4uF cap.

Ok, I'm sold!  These outputs are a very nice upgrade.  Clarity and detail is superb.  The Paramours have wonderful synergy with the Hornshoppe Horns.

For experimentation sake, I tacked the old Solen 3.3s in along side the Sonicap 4s for a total of 7.3uf parafeed.  To my ears, it just added a touch of muddiness and confusion to the sound.  I pulled them out again just as quick.  The Sonicaps sound excellent by themselves.

While I was underneath, I rewired one of the 12AT7 sockets to use the other half of the triode.  I plan to swap 12AT7s back and forth every once in a while to "hopefully" even the wear and prolong the life of my beloved RCA blackplates.

Thanks for the help everyone.
