Hello,

After installing the speedball upgrade to my crack kit and doing the voltage check, I got reasonable values at all terminals except #19 (tested 85V), 20 (tested 0V), 21 (tested 200V) and the TRS tip terminal during the final check.
It seems that the voltage listed in the speedball manual for 19/20 was incorrect and actually referred to terminals 20/21, which would make my voltages normal. The only thing I'm concerned about is the final check on the tip terminal, which is supposed to cap at 9V and drop to zero. When I perform this check it spikes to about 25V and then drops to zero. I did this a number of different times and got the same results (I waited at least 5 minutes between tries).

If it makes any difference the voltage check at the tip terminal after completing the crack assembly jumped to 9V and dropped 0 as expected. Is this an issue, or am I safe to plug in headphones?

Thanks for reading.

John

The voltage will pop up a bit higher with the Speedball, but also seems to pop back down very quickly.  This isn't all that abnormal.

The other voltages were issues with a prior revision of the Speedball manual.
