As requested, I finally got around to building up a wall powered quickie. To accomplish this, I used a power transformer from the Seduction, an auxiliary 6.3v filament transformer, two Eros PC boards (for the filaments on the 3S4's), and a few other extra parts.  The B+ supply is a simple solid state full wave rectifier into a CRC power supply feeding a big dropping resistor into an 0B2 voltage regulator tube.  Regulated B+ sits right at 107v, and the regulator is bypassed by a Panasonic film capacitor.

Initially I built the circuit with the standard Quickie operating points, and used some custom 5k:150 ohm nickel output transformers and 10uf Panasonic film parafeed capacitors for headphone listening.  I later changed the operating point a little bit to take advantage of the extra B+ available.  The availability of more plate voltage, however, may be tempting for some.

I don't think anything is gained by simply converting the Quickie to wall power.  In this configuration it is plenty quiet, but there is added sonic impact from the tantalum capacitors in the regulated filament supplies, and the contribution of the power supply itself.

A lot of batteries can be purchased for the cost of going this route!
