It is important to note that I was born in 1960 and as I write 54 years young.  Music began for me in the 70’s with Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd on vinyl played trough a Pioneer SX receiver and CS 99 speakers and I listened all the time. As much as I loved that sound my all-time favorite musical memory was realized one afternoon when a friend stopped by with his new pair of AKG headphones, I plugged them in, kicked back in a bean bag  and listened to “Wish You Were Here”, and it opened a whole new world to me, I was blown away by the difference.  As time passed, raising a family got in the way of serious listening and 40 years later I spend most of my time at my desk with computers, tablets and all other manner of smart devices.

I want to get back to analog and headphones and tube amplification feels right. All my music is digital and I would prefer to find a way to merge digital to analog.  I'm currently playing iPad/ALAC through a pair of Audioengine A5+ speakers via Audioengine B1 Bluetooth Receiver with a built-in AKM AK4396 D/A converter and it sounds great! I'm thinking I could simply swap the RCAs from the speakers to the Crack input and everything should be great through a pair of Sennheiser 650's.

What do you think?

That should be a great source to get you going with the Crack.  It will provide more than enough signal for the Crack, and the HD-650's are a great match.
