Hello,

New here and I'm having an issue. I'm testing out my Crack build (no speedball). I've followed the instructions to the letter, checked all my solder connections and when I turn on the amp the tubes glow, but there is a very loud humming noise coming from the actual transformer. Also, the transformer is getting very hot and stays hot for a long time after turning the amp off.

Could someone help me on a starting point to troubleshooting this problem? I am not sure what to look for, and what to measure.

Thanks!

Were all of your resistance and voltage checks correct?

Pictures will often be helpful when something is wrong that is not shown by the checks.

Boy I feel a little derp right now. Upon closer inspection I realized that I in fact had one of the UF4007 recifiers with the banded lead facing the wrong direction!

A quick re-solder and problem has been eliminate  :)
