Hi,
I'm exited to get building, but thinking about getting some powder coating done first.
Is it ok/possible to remove the sheet metal on the plate chokes for powder coating?
I was going to do the chassis plate and the transformer bell also. Are there any negatives about doing this?
Thanks, Jess

I just answered this in another thread, but I can't find it now.

No, do not remove the channel frame, that's what holds everything together. Specifically the critical air gap, which is just a paper spacer of tightly controlled thickness.

You can mask off all but the frame and spray paint them. Removing will destroy the choke.

I vinyl wrapped the metal frames on my Sex it only took 5 or 10 minuets.

That looks great Jamie! I think I'll try that, hope I can get it locally.
