hey guys, so today came home with a new 34 inch ultra wide screen beautiful monitor. and after install, for some reason the dreaded interference came back. you know one of those interference that when you turn the volume knob up, it gets louder, and when you turn it down, it disappears. and when you ramp up the CPU, or the GPU, it gets hella loud.

so... now i am in the market for a new set of RCA/Interconnects. right now i am using the basic Straight Wire Music Cable II. what should i get to replace those?

please nothing too expensive. ideally i'd like to stay around $80 if possible. and i need something long. the current Music Cable II is about 4ft, i am hoping i can get something that's 10ft so i can route the amp more away from the desktop computer. the DAC is an Asus Xonar Essence STX internal Burr Brown PCM 1792. in the future, i plan on upgrading to Schiit Bifrost, but money is tight now, so i can only run the amp from the STX; and honestly it's a pretty damn good DAC.

Are you sure different interconnects will solve the problem? Try using the headphone out on your phone (and change nothing else) to see if the problem remains. My Crack picks up interference from the wall outlet and not the interconnects and I am using some very inexpensive interconnects.

I suppose the DAC is an internal sound card? If so, the audio out might already be polluted by the time it goes out of the DAC. Replacing an interconnect is not going to solve that.

For internal card, you can try move it to another slot.

but all this started tonight after i swapped the monitor. nothing else has changed. it was fine before that. i am puzzled.

i've encountered this before, the interference sound comes on when the CPU does something, or when the GPU does something.

i solve it you guys..

i changed the placement of the two usb cables on the back of the computer when i swapped the monitor. i swapped those two USB cables back to the original positions, which was higher up on the back of the computer, and the interference went away. :)

saved myself some expensive cables. :)
thanks!!

Good to hear. It would have been really frustrating if $80 interconnects did not solve your problem...
