Here's a question for anyone who has had a chance to compare the stock volume pot  with an Alps Blue Velvet, which seems to be a popular and low cost modifier part.

I'm aware it's said the stock pot isn't great at matched channel tracking at the lower range of its settings, but I've addressed that by padding down the volume. To me, my Crack sounds great as it is, but I wouldn't mind to squeeze a little more juice out of the fruit if possible. What would the Alps Blue Velvet, or other alternatives, get me compared to my padded down stock pot?

You'll likely get better low volume tracking with the Blue Velvet, but the other differences will be fairly subtle.

Thanks-  Since I'm not experiencing any channel imbalance with my padded down input, I think on this front, I'll leave well enough alone.

Not much the Blue is more balanced than the stock pot but if you said yours have the resistor mod IMO no need for you to get the Blue.
I have the ALPS BLUE installed in mine the reason is i did not do the resistor mod.
