Paully is being kind.  He has listened to my Paramours for 10+ years.  He listens to a Paramount based 45 amp now.  He previously had the Paramounts configured in 300B/2A3/300B/2A3/45 mode.  It was quite a ride.

The Paramounts have different, better, iron than the Stereomour (one chassis Paramours).  The Paramount in 2A3 mode is direct coupled, eliminating a capacitor from the signal path.  The purer the signal path the better.  One of the reasons SET DHT sounds so good.

I have listened to Paully's system go through many, many changes.  I have been there for the swaps from 300B to 2A3 and then from 2A3 to 45.  That last one required some new output transformers and plate chokes.

The Paramount is more sophisticated than the Stereomour, it costs more for a reason.

My advice would be that if the 2A3 mode will satisfy your speakers and you have the money to buy these, do it.

Speaking here as the designer, and just to clarify a few things:

*  The iron complement is IMHO of very similar sonic quality for Stereomour and Paramount.

*  For 300Bs, only the Paramount iron is suitable (of course)

*  For 2A3s the Paramount iron will perform slightly better in bass extension

*  For 45s, the Stereomour iron will perform slightly better in both bass extension and in damping factor.

*  The Paramount with 45s is not supported (not in the manual, not guaranteed), though it's been done by a few, notably Paully. There are changes using parts we do not supply, and several optional variants such as changing the iron. These are not documented except in various posts on the Forum.

Great place here. While I'm trying to order a Quickie to get my feet wet so to speak, when I push the place order button it say my phone # is incorrect but I don't see where it even asks for one.

There is a group buy on AK for a nice Hakko soldering iron at a nice price.  I got one before embarking on the last round of builds.  Money well spent.
