Mystery attenuator hookup question

Hi all,

A friend of mine has asked me to install an attenuator in his SEX, but it came with no hookup instructions so I'm working blind. I've taken some pics of the unit in question and hope you can help me work out how to wire it into the SEX.

You can see in the images below that the attenuator has 2 layers of SMD resistors. It has a pair of solder tabs on one side (near labels for the ground and input) and a pair of solder tabs on the other side which are unlabelled.

I'm guessing that the solder tabs near the labels are for the ground while the unlabelled tabs are the output, but I'm hoping to gain confirmation of this and am also left wondering where the input wires connect. Should they connect to the solder pads of the resistors directly above the "IN" labels?

Not seen one of those before, looks like the same basic switch but configured as a series attenuator with SMD resistors.

The pic above should answer your question, but i would test it with a meter to be sure, between input and ground should give you 100k, or whatever value the pot is.  Then between the output and ground the reading will vary from a few ohms, to 100k as you move the pot.

Chris, have you used one of these because that picture from eBay doesn't show anything about the unnamed solder tabs on the far side of the switch.

Mark, I'll try doing the measurements you suggested and see what happens.

Yes and no! I did one years ago, but it never measured right on one side, so just put it away & forgot about it.
Best just to test as Mark suggested, that way you'll figure out what goes where.

On that one in the Ebay picture, there are a couple of unused terminals next to the input, where you would think the input wires would go, so unsoldered lugs may or may not connect to something.
