Hi guys

Hoping you might have some words of wisdom for dipping a toe into the world of R2R? I was considering a Sony TC-765 with two speed 3.75 and 7.5 ips. There are nubs and a bunch of reels included with recorded music on. It was professionally serviced a couple of years ago.

Trying out R2R is not something I have really looked into as the things are so heavy for shipping and are normally collection only but this one has come up and is not to far away from my brother who would be able to collect for me and drop it off.

Thanks if you have any wise words

Jamie

My suggestion is to decide what you want a deck for and then pick one to buy. That deck will be adequate for prerecorded 1/4 track tapes, but it won't play the 15ips two track tapes that are available from the Tape Project and other labels.
