Hi,

I finished building my Crack Amp yesterday plugged in my headphones and thought WOW !  What a great little kit.

Today I tried to add the Speedball but did not fair so well!

Left channel did not work at first. Traced this to the thin wires connecting the PCBs to the Crack. When stripping some of the wires I had damaged the thin wire inside on 1 or 2 of the cables.

Replaced these and now the amp seems to be working apart from the left channel is about 10% lower volume than the right. I can correct via balance on the source but am left wondering is the a problem somewhere in the circuitry?

Has anyone else had this issue?

Only manifested itself when the Speedball was added so assuming it's not the pot?

Many thanks in advance.

See FAQ #3 here.

I am guessing that the level is more even at higher positions on the volume pot?

I plugged it all back in to test at different volumes.

Faint hum only in left channel at zero volume then nothing in left channel when I turned up the volume?!

So it's gone from an imbalance to no output. :-\
