After the improvements in the Crack by making the changes in the power supply section that experience expanded my universe a bit.

Nothing past this point has any Bottlehead equipment in the circuits.

On a coincidence a friend of mine offered his Shunyata Hydra up for sale at a redonculous price.  So I bought in.  Bass instantly opened up.  Same power cords - same everything, just put this filter in replacing what I thought were decent surge suppressors.  I must have been strangling the poor bass amp.  Overall the sound opened up but bass was where it was most apparent.

I've been using Squeezeboxes since version 2 and in my main system I have a Duet.  I found that Welborne Labs appears to run a sale on the Squeezebox power supplies constantly so I purchased one.  More improvement!  This is a non-switching power supply.

The Duet power supply change introduces thoughts of "smoother", "blacker background", "less grain".  All buzzy words from any audiopile rag.

How is it I can notice something that isn't there anymore?!!  I wasn't disappointed in the sound my main system had before these changes but now it's up another 1 to 1.5 notches.

6  months ago I would have laughed myself silly at the thought of power upgrades making any difference.

This human head and sound collection system built into it is pretty amazing (not mine specifically).

Another Bottlehead initiated learning experience.
