Hi:

I’m going to be trying my Paramounts with a pair of new speakers this week.  The new speakers have a nominal 6 ohm impedance rating but don’t go below 4 ohms.  In addition, they have two impedance peaks at 28hz (22 ohms) and 70hz (23 ohms).

My one concern is that my Paramounts have Magnequest all-nickel BH-5 output transformers and BH-7 plate chokes.  The BH-5 only has 8 and 16 ohm impedance taps (currently connected to the 8 ohm tap).  Do you think the slightly lower speaker impedance will be an issue?  BTW, the speaker sensitivity is between 93 – 95db, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks!

Gerry

Thanks Doc!  With a little more "research", I was able to find the frequency response and impedance graphs.  For keen-eyed readers, you may notice the speaker model in the graph text.
