Hi members of this forum. Has anyone used ECC 84, 6CW7, 6L16 or CV5281 in a audio preamp or phonoequaliser
RIAA project? It´s a relatively cheap tube to aquire for the moment but it can have a potential for audio applications, despite
that the tube was produced for RF use and cascode applications. Instead of using 12AX7 or 6DJ8 tubes which are popular and
expensive (in NOS variety anyway) could ECC84 maybe be used as an nice and cheap alternative....

You're not quite going to get the gain that you would need out of a 6CW7 for an RIAA preamp.

Also, when comparing the 6CW7 to the 6922, the 6922 has both more gain and twice the transconductance (lower noise).
