We have had much discussion on equipment, tubes, caps, chassis wire, interconnects and speaker cables, ad nauseum. Speakers are always worth a thousand words. We banter about the finishes & treatment of our bases. But what about where we place our loving butts? The listening chair so honorably placed in the "sweet spot"!! Doc, awhile back, was looking for a nice Herman Miller office chair, but not much else, chair-wise, discussed.
I didn't realize how much the seating component impacted my listening enjoyment!
My back was bothering me and our old Victorian parlor suite wasn't helping. Sitting was getting painful. getting up, a chore, and listening sessions were terminated early. So I did some research and then some searching. I am now firmly, and comfortably, planted in, a new to me, Ekornes Stressless recliner. I got an older discontinued model because it had a shorter squared off back and height adjustable head rest. What a difference!! I didn't realize how much enjoyment of the music was being lost to the squirming and fidgeting!!
So....your face is to the speakers, where is your backside? (Not necessarily ignoring you purely headphone listeners. Just a different ergonomic interface!)
Cheers,
Geary
