The cores of the Crack wires do not look like copper, so are they silver or aluminum?

They are copper.

Great, thank you so much for your quick answer Doc.B.

Just a follow-up: I have never seen copper in silver color. So are the silver-colored Crack wires copper alloy?

The copper is plated.

I carefully examined a fresh cut, and did see some copper color from the cross-section.

Boy, it's really hard to see the true color of copper with the silver-colored plating.

Thank you very much, Doc.B!
