I have an Eros Phono pre-amp and a Stereomour II and today, while listening to Metallica’s “...And Justice For All”, at a volume worthy of listening to this LP, I started hearing a loud ringing in my system. Could this be caused by sympathetic vibrations of the tubes (it seemed worse when there was a lot of palm muting on the guitar track)? Or is it simply feedback through my Ortophon red? Either way, does anyone have any tips to quiet the ringing? Thanks!

The first thing to try would be swapping to a different source to remove the Eros/TT from the system.

EF86s can get a little microphonic, and you may also end up needing to remove the springs from the tube shields if that's the issue you end up having.

How close is your Eros to your speakers?

Right smack dab next to the speakers. So that’s what’s doing it? Would a tube ring or something similar do the trick?

Move it and your turntable as far away from the speaker as possible. That is a recipe for trouble.
