Newbie here.
Running my OTARI MX5050B2HD through the Eros TH preamp and am wondering if there is an easy way to simply reduce the output gain from 50db to ? (35-40)db similar to the old Reduction phono preamp?

I also have the Eros Phono preamp and have the same request. Although not nearly as sensitive as the TH, I still have the same issue with just too much outpit (for my system)

Since, I think they are basically the same, what works for one should work for the other?

I bought the kit assembled and had the tape head direct outputs on the OTARI installed by my local tech presumably following the wiring convention posed in this forum which does not affect the use of standard OTARI electronics.

Thanks,
Myles

What does the rest of your system look like?  (Preamp, amp, speakers)

I ask this question because just about any DAC will have more output than an Eros will.  How is the excessive gain manifesting for you?

Yeah, this is interesting. I have never heard of anyone having too much gain with an Eros tape head preamp and an Otari. You must have a very sensitive preamp?
