Would it be safe to use a y-splitter to drive 2 headphones out of the crack? Also would the headphones need to be the same impedance and or sensitivity? My wife is getting jealous that I'm listening to music without her. I was thinking picking up another HD6XX and y-splitter might fix this issue.

Two of the same pairs of headphones will present about 1/2 the load to the amp.  With two pairs of HD-6XX headphones, that will still be OK on a Crack.  You definitely want two identical pairs of headphones when you do this so that the levels are about equal.
