So I bought a unbuilt crack from someone on etsy that does these full builds and they accidentally sent me 3 6lug connectors instead of 2 of the 6lug and 5 lugs...

Would I need to wait for an official part to come in or can I order these: h ttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EV61H9M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and be fine..? (They're "Terminal Strip - 5 Lug, 3rd Lug Common, Horizontal, Standard size terminal strips, 1/16" thick bakelite, tin plated steel solder lugs and brackets on 3/8" centers." on Amazon)

That 100% will not work, you'd need the ones that we use that have some spacing between the bottom of the terminal strip and the chassis plate.

Ah got it :/ well it turns out you guys put in the extra 6 lug, since the kit was brand new when I got it. Staples and everything. I'll have to wait a bit for a replacement then.

So you have one 6-lug strip where it should have been a 5-lug?
Why not just use that one and leave one of the lugs unused?
Maybe it's just me that don't see the issue  :)

Not quite that easy as the 5 lug has a single centre fixing and the 6 lug has a fixing at each end. I'm sure BH spares can sort things out.

Ahh, that explains! Better get the right one then  :)

For fun, and possibly a solution, you could try turning the 6-lug into a 5-lug. On all the strips I've used, the terminals are simply crimped on. You could try uncrimping one end terminal and the third terminal in from the same side, swap their positions and recrimp them - maybe adding a drop or two of crazy glue to the joint. The superfluous 6th lug at the end can be snapped off with a strong pair of wire snips or side cutters (warning, that bakelite or FR4 fibreboard stuff really flies when you snap a piece off -- wear glasses and do it away from others).

Worst case scenario: it doesn't work and you have to wait for the replacement from BH -- which is exactly the position you're in now.

cheers, Derek
