What a cool build. 1 week of evenings. All resistance checks and voltage tests were spot on. Hooked the SEX and Moreplay up to newly completed Fostex full range drivers. Sounds great even on the garage floor and not burned in. The Fostexs have about 100 hours on them. Can't wait to get this into the living room. This set up is dead quiet, but I will still put the C4S in next month. I understand that this is an entry level set up but it sounds great next to my old SS system. Next step is signal source and a DAC, then better speakers, then.......

Thanks BH...Good stuff....

BTW - Just a few watts completely fills this garage with more than enough sound.

Awesome job on the builds! Those amps look super! I really like the matching wooden chassis you created for each one. Very nice handiwork.

I see that you are also into model planes. Another great hobby that I, too, enjoy!

Hi Scott. Thanks for the kind comments. I could'nt resist putting my own spin on these. I know it's not for everybody, but it works for me. The plane is fun. It's a .40 control line that I used to compete with. I haven't flown it in several years.

Nice clean build. S.E.X. amps are my daily drivers, nothing entry level about the sound, enjoy.

Beautiful! I love the matching folded horn cabinet(s). I've never listened to that speaker config, myself, and have it on my list to experiment with. (I'm using a Fostex full-range driver in a sealed cabinet paired with a tiny powered sub.)

Also, seconding the comment on the model aircraft. That's a bit more of a CL plane than the .049s I messed with as a kid ;D  (spent more time with R/C stuff, myself)

Again, thanks for the kudos. The Fostex are an experiment. I first had them in an open back configuration. Now in the folded horn cabs. The extended low midrange from the horn is amazing. But overall they lack deep base. I am going to have to add a sub to really appreciate the Moreplay and SEX. Next on the agenda is a DAC and save up for speakers worthy of the BH amps. BTW - my crappy old Pioneer cans sound really good on this set up.
