Hi and thanks for any help. I built my Crack and am truly loving it. I have not yet added the upgrade because of a problem: there is static in the right channel only. It does not change when I turn up the volume and is there with no input into the amplifier. When I turn up the volume at highest levels (roughly 3 o'clock) I hear pretty bad hum, but the volumes I use are down around 7-9 O'clock. All the tests in the instructions were fine. Not sure where to troubleshoot first. Thanks much for help.

I would start by reflowing every solder joint in the amp other than the power switch and the pins where the LEDs connect.

Is it weird to have him when the volume is cranked to very high?

That's pretty normal, especially if nothing is plugged into the amp.  If you listened at that level, you'd go deaf in a hurry.
