Why I don't go to concerts any more

Two hours in the car so far to a Roger waters concert. I'm
Not drunk anymore but already in a hangover!

I like my system and tapes better

Two hours and not there yet kinda hurts, but I saw Roger Waters do "The Wall" earlier this fall and it was worth it.  Fantastic show...

That reminds me of the time I passed clean out while listening to "Wish You Were Here" at full tilt. It was a hot summer day and I'd spent way too much time in the local bar. I came home to my converted attic room and opened some windows and put in that cassette tape (forgetting that the machine was on repeat). I woke up with a Sheriff looking over me. A neighbor on the next street over had called the cops after about the third time through side A!

Enjoy the rest of the concert buddy!

It is the $100+ tickets that gets me.  Concerts in Atlanta are all during the week.  With the millions who live there they can fill any venue even on weeknights.

But here in Knoxville I got to see Jerry Douglas, the best Dobro player in the world, second row for $40 a ticket.  Small venue too, an old theater the Bijou.

The Eagles didn't cost but $80 a ticket but there was a traffic jam going and leaving.  The Thompson Bowling Arena (UT Basket Ball venue) was packed.

Took my 14 year old son to Roger Waters.  We've also seen AC-DC and Rush together.  Great way to do a little father-son 'bonding'!  He's the only teenager I know who can identify most classic rock songs within a couple of seconds of the start.  Makes me proud!

Hope you enjoyed the rest of the show.
