Hi,

I am going through the instructions of building the mainline and was surprised to see that the instructions take into consideration your voltage. For example, it says "IF your voltage is GREATER than 225V AC and LESS
than 235V AC:"...do such and such steps.

Why is this the case when I thought the mainline Kit has been " updated to version 1.1 with a universal power transformer. Same great sound, now ready to travel the world."

Thanks.

The power transformer has to be set for whatever your powerline voltage is.  Mainline 1.0 was available with either a 120V power transformer or a 240V power transformer, which were completely different items.

A universal power transformer does not mean that the amp will work whether you plug it into a 120V or 240V outlet.  That kind of functionality is something you see in switch mode power supplies for consumer electronics, but is still relatively rare in HiFi.
