I've had great success running low powered tube amps with my really nice 1960s vintage 15ohm Leaks. Single ended amps just seem to suit them really well. Now all of my previous amps only have 4 and 8 ohm taps, and one amp with only one tap that can run anything from 2ohm and up. Also, sometimes 8ohm speakers sound nicer on the 4ohm taps.

I'm about to start building a SII and am wondering whether to initially set it up for 8 or 16ohm? Is this something to just try and see which sounds best? Obviously it's not possible to AB test this. Hoping for some advice, thanks.

I think it's a great idea to try both configurations.
