How to identify output transformer wiring
« on: September 03, 2022, 01:54:47 PM »
I recently purchased a pair of Paramount 300b amps. I am not sure how the output transformers are wired (4,8, or 16 ohms). Is there a manual or diagram available?
Thanks
Scott

Yes, there is a short (one page) document on that transformer. I have attached it in PDF form. It shows the wiring for a 4-8-16 ohm switch using a 2-pole 3-throw switch.

This is the most likely configuration.

Thank you both!
I purchased these from Gig Harbor Audio last week. Erik, there, told me they had been "modified by Paul at the factory" but didn't say when that occurred. Would that be one of you?

Yes, I changed them to use the 6LU8 after using them for a few years.
