The two 3650F 365 ohm (wattage not listed anywhere) resistors pictured/mentioned  on page 9, 47 and 48 of the procedure that I have, are NOT what was in my kit ordered Nov. 2022. I received two banded 1/8 watt resistors that are now left over as I am finally finishing things up. I had replacements on hand way back then so no biggie. I only post this in case someone else does not think they were shorted in the kit or lost them at home. This whole thing did cause me some confusion and some hands on my knees time looking for lost parts, getting back up from the floor is the hard part.

Bottom line: A personal heads up memo in my personal kit from a personal small tube amp outfit about part substitutions, or any changes known at the time of building the kit that is hand picked for me that deviated from the provided procedure and parts list would have saved me much extra trouble and confusion. Either way, finally getting close to the end.

BTW, an accurate detailed  schematic with up to date nomenclature and values for EVERY component should be included in the price.

If we put a personal note in every kit every time we provided a resistor that's slightly different than what's in the manual, we might have to hire extra staff to accomplish this.  We are definitely not going to redraw the schematic as part of this process.  It is of great interest that the 365 ohm resistors on the schematic in the manual do not have a wattage value called out on them, as they dissipate 9/1000 of a watt and pretty much any old 365 Ohm resistor that exists is going to be overkill in that spot.  Also, you can use your meter to measure the resistance of any mystery resistors, then double check what you measure against the parts list.

We do have a note on the parts list that clarifies this point.

Documenting every part substitution with a personal note is, unfortunately, not feasible for us. We try to cover some of the more frequent ones - some of you may have seen a sub part in a 2x3 ziplock bag with a sticker in some kits. You're always welcome to ask here if you have a question about a part in your kit. If you find resistors in your kit that don't seem to match the images you can always use your ohmmeter to verify the value.

I hear ya. Maybe I was expecting too much. And yes, I did use a meter to check them in the beginning but the wattage for the component was not listed in any way shape or form no schematic with nomenclature and component values was ever provided to me
and the pics and procedure were not jiving up, it was still a guessing game which might cause confusion for the builder.

You all obviously had the time to respond to this post. You all have been great at answering questions on here, which takes more of your time. Seems like a simple heads up or post might actually save you time in the long run.

I understand that we are not building aircraft, but for the price I think it should be treated like we are. I know it is on my end. Overall I think you have done a great job and my customer is very happy. I am just offering some constructive criticism. Take it or make excuses of why you dont have time to make your kits more personalized. To each individual builder it is personal for sure.

Yes, Paul. I have read your disclaimer about substitutions. I am just saying that a generalized substitution heads up to the kits affected would be nice. I will be nice enough to give you a heads up: Keep in mind that reputation in this line of work is everything and I know a lot of folks in this game so stop making excuses please and address the issue. Heading over to AK now to see what others think.

Thank you, Doc. I found the schematic (page 7) my bad. still no power ratings for the resistors. I can test the resistance but not the power rating, I judge that by size mostly. The ones that were sent were about 1/10 the size of the ones pictured on page 47, hence my confusion. This project has been shelved for a while due to my life's twists and turns is how I missed the schem. this go around. Either way, thank you. I will rock on and you please do the same. I am not normally one of those customers that we all hate. I am a seller also. No hard feelings on my end  ;)
