Hi,

My S.E.X. is 21 years old today.  So far I changed the pot (still noisy, despite cleaning and changing) and also switched with another set off lamps.

It sits on 3 cans of beans in the living room, in a stone box (instead of the wood it came in with, I use Jerusalem gold granite and it is splendid), feeding the same handmade speakers I built 20 years ago (Fostex 208 es-r, now discontinued). It also got an Iron upgrade that was available at the time.

Everything around has changed; turntable (now a Rega P8 instead of a Luxman PD-282 now dedicated to mono), several phono preamp (including the Seduction I still have but replaced with an X-Altra), an Amp Camp preamp to control the SEX. It is a nice setup as it allows me to travel from the Amp Camp to the SEX and a THX738 for my headphones.

All of the above provides me Joy.

Maybe one day I'll get a Stereomour. But the SEX is so good....

Thanks to the Bottlehead team; I can say that at least 75% of my mental health maintenance has been successfully improved because of you.

Long live Bottlehead!

If you're still rocking the C-7X/Speco transformer set, the iron upgrade package is still available and gives a substantial improvement when the SEX is used with speakers.

It's also good to hear that you've gotten about a decade out of your tube set.  I have an amp that's very similar to the SEX amp in my workshop that has run 24/7 for over a decade, and I get about 5-6 years out of a set of tubes.
