Dan,

Will the shunt reg 5670 driver board for the stereomour be one of those upgrades that will be coming post-
RMAF?

That must be something that was discussed with PJ? I'm not aware of such a project and I'm not sure how we would squeeze the extra tube in order to have enough triodes to do shunt regs.

No discussion, just a post PJ made in one of the threads on the stereomour forum.

I haven't found the post. Perhaps you are thinking of using a 5670 in place of the 12AT7? That would require changing the driver bias, which is adjustable with the newest board - not yet included in the Stereomour kits - it can't be until there is time available to shoot new photos for the manual.

This will NOT provide shunt regulation on the driver, just a different tube. In the same way, other tubes could be used, such as the 6CG7.

Paul,

Ok, maybe I misunderstood what you were saying.  It was one of the responses in the started by ebag4, titled "a question for doc and pj" or something like that.

Shurnt reg or not, it would be interesting to have a choice of tubes, but only because I have some interesting ones to try.

Thanks,

Jim
