I might be acquiring a K1000 in the near future so I am trying to plan building an amp that is suitable for not only my 600 ohm K240DF and 120 ohm K400 but also the K1000. I was able to hear a K1000 being powered by a SEX at the bay area meet in February but not with the Smack. I guess my question would be if the SEX or Smack would offer the best performance with the cans in my collection. In another post I had about my 600 ohm K240 Paul mentioned it would be feasible to install the Smack transformer on the SEX which would result in higher output power. The Paramounts would be ideal for use with the K1000 but is not as user friendly as the other two options.
