I like it too!  A pretty progressive look at turning our war mongering to the positive!! Why after we have rebuilt us, we could spend billions for untold years on "un-foreign" aid to maintain education, social and health services!  Sad. 'ain't' gonna happen, too radical, wrong people would benefit.

Cheers,
Geary

I like that a lot too!

Was anyone else reminded of the Peter Sellers movie, "The Mouse That Roared"?

I hear that people are moving to Canada to get away from the socialized medicine recently approved by the Supreme Court. Seriously. Must be the same people who said "...keep your d@$* government hands off my Medicare!"

rif,

I hadn't thought of it, but now I remember it.  I saw it when it came out.  Perfect!

Found a fun factoid today. The U.S. buys 3.3 million dollars worth of American flags each year - from China.

I had always wondered if anybody else noticed this - the irony of a symbol of the free world festooned with "made in China" tags. I mean, for God's sake, you'd think we'd at least be able to make our own flags.....

Remember when retailers like Wal-Mart proudly trumpeted their American-made products? I remember this well into the 1990s. My, how quickly the tune has changed.....

In any case, a belated happy Independence Day and a thank you to all of those who have served our great country.

When Sam Walton died, that all changed.
