Sorry, I missed that part.  Hearing differences in cables is one of the things that got me into this hobby almost 20 years ago so it's all old news to me.

dbishopbliss you may want to try putting together some speaker cables with silver plated copper in teflon wire from Apex JR (http://apexjr.com/wire.html). You can use larger gauges than the 24awg or 26awg that come in ethernet cable, resulting in much less braiding. The wire is quite stiff though so it will wear down your hands if you'er making a long pair. That is a good idea, but since I am already working on 4 varieties, I will ask someone else coming to the event to contribute.  Might be interesting to compare the stranded 12 gauge to all copper stranded 12 gauge in PVC.
