I wanted some options on amps and sources so I"m going to try out a 4in - 3out Quickie.  Keeping the Dcells on the chassis, but using 3 or 4 12v SLA's instead of the 9V batteries.  Here's pic's of today's work, still have to put in one more set of RCA's, a switch and pilot light then I'll start wiring.

Yeah, had those left over from another build, got some good parts left to add; Tantulums, Cerifine and Auricaps, but I need an upgrade on the switches.

Finished it off, rainy day here and I had some spare time to "soddah" as my grandson says. Still have to stain the base, add some bypass caps.

More and more caps.  Replaced the Solens with 10uF Clarity for 2nd output, bypassed with some .68 clarity's I had in the bin.  51 uF Aeon caps on 1A and 1B of the PJCSS.  Will start listening and burn in tomorrow.  Also thinking of increasing B+ to 48 volts, have to check the max volts on the 3S4, I think it's around 60, read that somewhere (probably on a thread here, gotta love this place for the help you can get).

Wow, thems some caps! I also like the way you have the inputs on the opposite side of the tubes as the outputs.

I have played around with the B+ voltages a bit. My conclusions, so far, is that the lower voltages sound better than the higher ones. The white paper for the 3s4 shows lower distortion at lower voltages. Of course lower power output as well. I'm currently using a 3300mah NMH pack at 30V. Its interesting. The 3s4 maxes out at 67 volts. I tried 63.

Dude,
That level of integration is way out of my league.  I'm a hacker at best.  My next adventure with the Quickie is to make a headphone amp for my brother, try to bring him over to tubes (the dark side).
Good job!!!!

Thanks.
It was actually quite easy. The op amp that was connected to the volume pot output is where the input wires to the quickie went.
That gets me all the inputs the C1 has plus the use of the [alps] pot to control volume and balance.
Next was disconnect the resistors at one of the outputs [there are two sets], like has been outlined in a "passive C1 mod".
Google the quoted you will see.
The quickie output wires go to those output jacks. Done.
I removed the power supply in the C1 it was bad, and I used that space for the tubes.
The final result is a preamp that is passive with the quickie circuit off, and active when I choose to use it.

So the operable term in my case would be 'Hack'.
