Lowther speakers in a TTL cabinet

I have a couple of Lowther DX3 drivers and was thinking about building  them in a Martin J. King TTL cabinet design:     http://www.quarter-wave.com/Project04/Project04.html   

 I thought it might make a good speaker for my 300B Paramounts in my small 14x14' listening room where I must have the speakers located fairly close to the wall.

Has anyone listened to this or similar designs and have any comments?

I built some MLTL's with a different driver.  They measured incredibly flat, but they are one of the worst speakers I've listened to.

I don't know if there's a term for a negative tease, but that's one if I ever read one.  Details, please!  What drivers did you use, what didn't you like about the sound, etc.

It was a pair of bamboo Tang Neo W4's in an MLTL. 

The frequency response had a small bump at 7K, but the overall presentation was thin and nasal.  They also had to have a ton of stuffing to work, which is something that is a serious handicap IMO.

It's really tough though, there is a lot of positive feedback around this speaker design.

Based on this advise,  now I am thinking of Lowther Medallion III cabinets, which look fairly hard to build or something else.  Frugal Horns seem interesting , but to small for my DX3.  All advise appreciated about the best cabinets to build for my small 14x14' listening room where I must have the speakers located fairly close to the wall and one in the corner.

The DX-3 seems to call for a back loaded horn.  If you want something easy to play with, you could try a BIB.

The closeness to the wall/corner and the asymmetry of this placement from side-to-side would make me want to put them into sealed cabinets and cross them over to a dedicated sub, though I haven't looked into it enough to see how well that might work.
