I may be the only guy here with this issue, although really more of a non issue.
I live in Japan and home mains voltage here is 100v.
I've been running my Crack off 100v with no issues at all.
This morning I'm looking at my Crack sitting on the floor next to my Foreplay 3 which is being fed by a step up transformer supplied with 115v.
I don't know why but it absolutely never occurred to me before to swap the mains and feed crack 115v but I just did.
First thing I noticed was that before at 100v I had a tiny, tiny bit of floor noise at max volume. Maybe it's my imagination but it seems to be gone now. Dead silent.
And it sounds more alive. Much more alive. Crack loves 115 mains.
Also rolled in a JAN Phillips 6080WC which is now my favorite tube. I rolled the tube in a couple days before the mains swap so I have a good idea of what it sounded like before and after.
All tubes being the same are not created equal. I bought 4 of the JAN Phillips on ebay on the cheap and one or two of them clearly sound better than the other ones.
