I was praying that the Irish guy would win because the Italians are notorious for being dodgy on ebay.. well, the friggin Italian guy won..

Hey...Are you talknig to me?!?  ;D
Just joking: I'm Italian!

My worst ebay experiences were with two German sellers (I'm a buyer): the first quoted shipping fees to Italy and then he refused to sell me the item (a set of Saba's Greencones) locking the auction for German ebayers only; the second was selling a beautiful pair of 755E I bid for but loose, then he wrote me offering them in BIN mode. I bought them immediately but he refused to ship saying he regret the sale and wanted to keep them. At first I was very disappointed and told him he HAD to send them to me, but he refund me the money and kept refusing to send; then I told him I would have wrote to ebay, so he took my money again and then, after a week, he wrote me he forgot the speakers in the tube while bringing them to office post... I couldn't belive my eyes when I red such a childish email, but I let him using his speakers (didn't believe a single word he wrote) and took my money back, I found another pair of 755e a month later.
But even if I was angry I didn't give a negative feedback to any of them, because I didn't loose my money  ;)

Bisogna avere orecchio!

UPS actually busted a Velodyne sub in two! No joke, I couldn't believe it! Even the magnet was detached from the driver. Worst of all, the buyer still plugged it in to see if it worked. REALLY?

Chris,

I admit to not reading all the text in an auction often enough I end up with something I don't want every so often.  I blame myself.  'nuff said?

Dang!  I forgot that I'm 63 and was taught to keep control of my own body most of the time.  When I wasn't in control was the 60s and I was in puberty!   ;D

Long long ago, in a far off website, was small group of audiophiles who wanted to buy and sell equipment with no lies/hassles. They formed a small business and decided to call it Audiogon. All was well for years, until, one day a marketing rep showed up at their door.

Well, now I have an experience to report. Maybe this thread will help me salve the wound from this experience. I sold a Carver H9 holographic unit to someone at Ebay. I took a loss on the unit, but figured I had to as I need the money right now. Got a message this morning about returning the unit, even though I said there were no returns. I informed the customer that I WOULD accept a return in his case, and would resolve the situation to his satisfaction. I replied within 10 minutes of his first message! Now, he has opened a case stating that he wants a refund(didn't I just tell him that I would?), or an exchange, which I also offered. Jumping the gun really can cause damage to my credit at Ebay. I'm depressed.

If only that photo were of me and not Christopher ? You know, the guy that played in Highlander. Yah, close resemblance I figure.  heh heh

Ok, so anyway, as usual, I figured out what the problem actually was. I emailed the customer, but he hasn't responded. It goes like this: In the C9 unit, there are three buttons, from left to right, they are 1) 'theoretical'  2) 'wide'   and 3) engage. On the H9 the 'engage' button is on the LEFT, not RIGHT . Since this customer owns a C9 for the past 25 years, he would automatically push the wrong button! I know, because I did the same thing!
I had another customer that claimed that his C9 didn't even turn on. Hmmmm, well did you press the on button?  True story......

Highlander?????   Interesting.  In the first Highlander movie he exits the castle and goes off to battle where he is first killed.  The castle and bridge are from Eilean Donan Castle, where my Great Grandfather left to head to North Carolina (Grandfathers Mountain).  I call it "my castle."

Well, me and 5000 other descendents of the McRaes.  That is where Lees McRae college is.
