This is arguably one of the best stations for our kind of work.

I can't stress, just how much easier it is to learn to solder like a Pro, with a tool like this.

http://www.partsconnexion.com/tools_soldersta.html

It's $100 on the site but on sale for $60.

I have no connection with PX, but I am a Fan boy of the 936...John

How do you get the sale price?  That's an incredible deal.

Note that this isn't a Hakko station, it's a "Hakko style replica"...

From the PCX web site:

"Hakko-style 936 Solder Station & extra Hakko-style Tip, Each

NOTE: The 936 model is no longer in production by Hakko. These units are high quality "replica" stations (1 year warranty). "

That may or may not make a difference, I couldn't say.

I'm very happy with the Hakko 936 I bought a few years ago. It is my understanding that this model is no longer in production. There may be some NOS units out there but a majority of the units claiming to be a Hakko 936 are clones. The one in this link seems too good to be true.

Hmm, PCX has a picture of the Hakko station up, that's a little unusualy for them.  At that price, it's no longer such a great deal.

Hmm, the one that is pictured is identical to one I have, down to the holder, I suppose you could call and ask them what's the scoop. Still, one year warranty...John

Awhile back, I did buy a Hakko model888? Not sure, but I would rather have the style shown here. I don't need no stinkin digital iron, but you couldn't take it from me either. The Hakko performs really well so far.
