Still needs some finish work and a lot of detail stuff, but it's mostly together and it runs! Ran a few tentative passes up and down our long driveway today, to see what might fall off. It's  FUN!!

Sweet! You've got matching red & black leathers right?

Nope leathers are all black. Spent a lot of time looking for deals and got a Dainese jacket, BKS pants, Held gloves and some really stout Alpinestars racing boots for my crappy ankle, all for about $500.

Funny.  I have a buddy that's a motorcycle mechanic.  Knows nothing about audio but loved the sound of my Altecs with the Stereomour.  It's a funny connection that seems to happen between the two sometimes...

I've never owned a bike but hope to someday.  I grew up with three wheelers and dirt bikes.

Back on topic; nice looking bike you've got there Doc!

Sweet restoration, I like the attention to detail you have achieved.

Thanks! Coming from a guy who builds such nice looking gear that means a lot. It's not really a restoration in the strict sense, as the original bike looked like this when new:

(https://forum.bottlehead.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fraresportbikesforsale.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F02%2FScreen-Shot-2013-02-09-at-9.03.14-PM-600x409.jpg&hash=ac54e9752f4144ab63cfa11e2c4bda421370480a)

It's called the jelly mold fairing for obvious reasons. Mine was missng fairings and was in pretty rough shape:

It now sports fairings from a 2003 CBR600RR, which was kind of like stuffing 6 lbs. of s**t in a 5 lb. bag.

That's one hell of a transformation Dan! Congrats on the build and watch out for four wheelers!  I just put my bike up for sale today.  There have been too many bodies coming through my operating room secondary to reckless drivers here in San Diego.  Maybe I'll build one once I return to WA...

I like the rotors, Doc.  Is there a specific performance enhancement from the shape?  Never seen rotors like that before.

Sure, they're coooool. ;^)> They were one of the less expensive rotors I found, and I like the look too.

And for those who though I would never actually ride thing -

That reminds me of a demolition saw blade, does it have diamond teeth?  8)
