Hi Everyone,
I read on here yesterday about the mistake in the manual regarding hookup of the D cell leads, which power the filaments of the 3S4s.
As I understood it -- for each channel -- the red lead of the respective D cell should, (after passing through the switch) be attached to pins 1,7 (and not to pin 5 as the manual indicates).
And that would mean that the black D cell lead should be attached to pin 5 (and not to pins 1,7 as the manual indicates).
OK, so I changed the wiring. I simply reversed the wires formerly on pin 5 and 1,7.
But, now I am experiencing very weird things with my Quickie. The volume is either too loud, or sometimes not there at all. The volume pot will not respond when this happens.
At other times, all seems OK.
I am thinking some wiring also needs to be re-done with regard to the caps and resistors -- which were previously connected to the BLACK leads and pin 5.
Can some one tell me what to do systematically / step by step?
Thanks
