Nice review!  Congrats to the Bottlehead crew on this wonderful product.

What an inexpensive way to get into diy audio.  I know that I am loving my Quickie driving my Paramounts! 

Too bad more wasn't said about the Quicksand.....maybe a second review coming?

Any thoughts on the battery discussion?  I was surprised to see that lead acid batteries are more noisy than alkaline.

The comments about batteries in that review were made somewhat superfluous with the mention that the reviewer did not find any actual data to refer to (!). I have done some looking on google and found papers about studies made on chemical battery noise that seem to come to different conclusions than the reveiwer. As usual, I don't take much of what anyone says as gospel and prefer to do my own research. We have quite a few battery samples coming in.

Second that one Doc..  Facts are much better than opinion :)  I thought sealed lead acid batteries were supposed to be pretty good.  Maybe the reviewer was picking up noise from something else, like an AC source or possibly wifi.  For the most part the review matched my experience, I just wish he had talked about what can be done for the ringing with the tubes and how to hook up a ground wire to get rid of hum..  Nonetheless, quickie is still one of my fav pieces of stereo equipment :)  I'm curious about the lead acid though, been thinking about going to to 3 12 volt lead acid batteries for the plate voltage..
